Awesome exercises

Easily Learn About Calisthenics

Overall it was a good way to easily learn about the calisthenic workout. There was nothing mindblowing, but if you want a quick guide on calisthenics that provides a set of workout exercises you can use then this is great! Not to mention it shows you videos of exactly how to do the exercises.

The author of this book really does a great job of showing readers how to workout without having to go to the gym or use weights! I am always nervous to go to the gym, and can’t afford a personal trainer to show me how to use weights and exercise machines correctly so I don’t hurt myself. But this calisthenics books gave me a whole workout routine to do without the gym or weights. I can do the workouts right in my own living room! I know that following the routine in this book, mixed with a great clean diet, I can achieve the body I want in no time. In fact, I am pairing this book with the same author’s book called Clean Eating so I can get my diet and exercise routine on track! If you are looking to get in better shape without having to drive to the gym everyday, download this book! A must for the Plastic Surgery Resident

This book covers all the basic info that a plastic surgery resident should know, in a small, pocket size book. You can carry it over, and let's you do quick reviews of diagnostic and therapeutic measures while on the move.

I definitely recommend this book as an aid to have on the go, besides the basic books you should have in your shelf for a deeper reading.

Great For Plastics rotation

ALthough not as Comprehensive as Grabb and Smiths or another full size textbook, this pocket guide is a really fantastic summary of everything you need to know at the 4th year medical student level or PGY1. It is great to carry around and refresh info before going into a case or right after seeing a consult. I would use it this way so that I was always ready for pimping/questions. I would highly reccomend this book to anyone considering going into plastics or for residents to carry around with them in their junior years.

The only negative about this book I found was there was not enough pictures/diagrams of what they were covering in text. Sometimes this would mean I would know what a technique or method was called and what it was for but could not visualize it or name it when I saw it being done.

Great of any interested med student!!

This is good book for any student that is the least bit interested in plastic surgery. It will cover all the basic info you need for a plastic elective rotation or away rotation. As a 3rd year who just had a rotation at a private plastic surgery office I definitely recommend and so did my preceptor (he thought it was great to have)!!

Makes Tokyo A Little Less Overwhelming

I used the DK Eyewitness Travel "Top 10 Tokyo" guide extensively on a trip to Japan last year. I appreciated its compact nature and distilling the overwhelming (but awesome) confusion of being a first time visitor to Tokyo into actionable bullet points. The included map is also handy, but I particularly appreciated the coverage of the Meiji Shrine and of the art and craft stores: when I travel abroad I want to see things and buy products that are unique to the destination and the coverage here helped greatly. Ginza in particular would have been much harder to negotiate had I not read "top 10 Tokyo" first.

The DK "Top 10" books are revised frequently, so make sure you're buying the most current version. There's obviously much more to see in Tokyo than what can be briefly summarized in a 144-page book, but it's extremely portable and I recommend it especially to people who have never traveled to Japan before.

From the fifteenth century to the present, millions of Africans have been dispersed -- many of them forcibly, others driven by economic need or political persecution--to other continents, creating large communities with African origins living outside their native lands. The majority of these communities are in North America. This historic displacement has meant that Africans are irrevocably connected to economic and political developments in the West and globally. Among the known legacies of the diaspora are slavery, colonialism, racism, poverty, and underdevelopment, yet the ways in which these same factors worked to spur the scattering of Africans are not fully understood -- by those who were part of this migration or by scholars, historians, and policymakers. In this definitive study of the diaspora in North America, Toyin Falola offers a causal history of the western dispersion of Africans andits effects on the modern world. Reengaging old and familiar debates and framing new ones that enrich the discourse surrounding Africa, Falola isolates the thread, running nearly six centuries, thatconnects the history of slavery, the transatlantic slave trade, and current migrations. A boon to scholars and policymakers and accessible to the general reader, the book explores diverse narratives of migration and shows that the cultures that migrated from Africa to the Americas have the capacity to unite and create a new pan-Africanist movement within the globalized world. LYNN QUITMAN TROYKA, Professor of Writing, at the City University of New York (CUNY), has taught at Queensborough Community College and in the graduate Language and Literacy program at City College. Former editor of the "Journal of Basic Writing, "her writing and research appears in major journals and various scholarly collections. She conducts workshops in the teaching of writing. Lynn is co-author of "Quick Access Reference for Writers," Fifth Edition, Prentice Hall (2007), "QA Compact, "First Edition, Prentice Hall (2007), Canadian editions of her "Simon & Schuster Handbook for Writers "and "Quick Access Reference for Writers, Structured Reading, "Seventh Edition, Prentice Hall (2007), and "Steps in Composition, "Eighth Edition, Prentice Hall (2004). Dr. Troyka received the 2001 CCCC Exemplar Award, the highest CCCC award for scholarship, teaching, and service; the Rhetorician of the Year Award; and the TYCA Pickett Award for Service. She is a past chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC); the Two-Year College Association (TYCA) of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE); the College Section of NCTE; and the Writing Division of the Modern Language Association. "This information," says Dr. Troyka, "tells what I've done, not who I am. I am a teacher. Teaching is my life's work, and I love it." DOUG HESSE, Professor of English and Director of Writing at the University of Denver as of fall 2006, previously held several positions at Illinois State University, including Director of the Honors Program, Director of Writing Programs, and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching. Dr. Hesse earned his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. Inaddition to teaching at Illinois State, he's also taught at the University of Findlay, Miami University (as Wiepking Distinguished Visiting Professor), and Michigan Tech. Dr. Hesse has had numerous national leadership roles in the teaching of writing. He is past Chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC), the nation's largest professional association of college writing instructors. A past president, as well, of the Council of Writing Program Administrators (WPA), Hesse edited that organization's journal, "Writing Program Administration. "He is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Executive Committee and the Modern Language Association (MLA) Division on Teaching as a Profession Executive Committee. He is the author of 45 articles and book chapters, in such journals as "College Composition and Communication, College English, JAC," "Rhetoric Review, "the "Journal of Teaching Writing, "and others, and in such books as "Essays on the Essay; Writing Theory and Critical Theory; The Writing Program Administrator's Sourcebook; Literary Nonfiction; The Private, the Public, and the Published; Passions, Pedagogies, and 21st Century Technologies; "and others. He is also co-author, with LynnTroyka, of the "Quick Access Reference for Writers, "Fifth Edition, Prentice Hall (2007) and "Quick Access Compact, "First Edition, Prentice Hall (2007). Illinois State University named him Outstanding University Researcher. "Of all these accomplishments," says Dr. Hesse, "the one that matters most to me is being named Distinguished Humanities Teacher at Illinois State. That one came from my students and suggests that, in however small a way, I've mattered intheir educations and lives."
